History

With a spirit of a Social Welfare the Sir Syed Education Society established its first institution a primary school in 1965 in a building now called campus II. In 1968 the main building of campus – I was constructed and a High School started functioning in 1969. In 1974 a Circular Building was constructed in campus – I as a Girls Section. The College block was completed in 1980 and Coeducation commenced from the same year in Pr-engineering, Pre Medical and General Science. The construction of a college Hall and the Side Block was started in 1980. The first floor was added two year later. Principal’s house was constructed in 1984.Nursery classes were started in 1988 in a rented building 7-Anarkali.

An English Medium Institution with an area of 43,000 Sqr feet and a covered area of 14,000 Sqr feet now designated Campus – II is located opposite POF Hotel on Quaid Avenue. Originally it consisted of two army barracks which served as a Junior School till 1995.

In 1995 5 sections of boys of secondary school classes were shifted from Campus – I.

In 1997 an Intermediate College was setup in Pre-Engineering, Pre-Medical and General Science subjects.

Two labs and one library were added in the campus.

Campus – II then became a high school class from VIII to class X for boys.

In 2001 once again one Pre-Engineering and one General Science section was added to the pre existing class IX and class X. Class VII & VIII was shifted to campus – I.

Sir Syed Educational Institutions are being run by Sir Syed Education Society which was founded in 1964 by some Aligarians who were working in P.O.F.Sir Syed Education Society is a registered NGO which is self supporting. Chairman POF Board is the Patron in Chief of SSEI. It has a President , a Coordinator, a Gen. Secretary and Financial Secretary in its managing committee.Sir Syed College Wah Cantt was the first ever Private English Medium Institution in the Region founded in the year 1965. Later wards in the past 45 years society established 5 more campuses as Sir Syed College Campus – II, Sir Syed High School Sanjwal , Sir Syed High School Havelian , POF Model High school Gudwal, POF Model Primary School 25 Area. In 2006 two schools of welfare trust one in Havelian and Wah have also been merged in Sir Syed educational Institutions.We are imparting quality education at SSC and HSSC level for the wards of P.O.F as well as Non-P.O.F employees. All the SSEI institutions have been affiliated with federal Board. The medium of instruction is English. Three of our institutions are running in two shifts that is morning and evening. The current strength of SSEI is more than 10,000 who are being looked after by 500 efficient and dedicated teachers. Sir Syed Education society has provided an ideal environment in the institutions in terms of spacious classrooms, fully equipped Labs and sports facilities.Our students secure top ranking positions in the region as well as in the Federal Board. All the institutions produce 100% results and our GPA remains between 4.8 & above.Apart from academics, our students equally participate in co curricular activities to inculcate leadership qualities among the students Declamation contests , Sports and Painting competitions etc are being conducted on regular basis.We can safely say without any doubt that all the SSEI’s are contributing towards Nation Building as majority of our students are serving in the Armed forces and an equal majority is serving as doctors , engineers , lawyers and teachers.
